AL Kabob Grill & Cafe is a straightforward, no-frills Pakistani and South Asian restaurant tucked along Harry Hines Boulevard in Dallas, serving up hearty, familiar dishes that resonate especially with those who crave authentic home-style flavors. If you’re looking to experience the kind of spice-forward, richly sauced meals common in Pakistani and Indian kitchens, this spot delivers in both taste and portion size.

The interior is simple and casual, leaning more toward a place you drop into for a filling, unpretentious meal rather than a linger-over-dinner atmosphere. It’s the kind of place where groups of friends or families pop in for midday or evening goodness—service moves at a steady pace, although ordering might feel a bit hurried at busy times. The staff is friendly and welcoming, enhancing the down-to-earth vibe.

Popular dishes include classics like Beef Biryani, Butter Chicken, and Chicken Kabob, with generous servings and well-seasoned meats. The goat pulao, in particular, is noted for its big chunks of tender meat and pronounced aroma. The menu also features a wide array of rolls and wraps, kebabs, and South Asian comfort foods like Chicken Kadahi and Beef Nihari. Sides like butter naan and samosas round out the experience well and encourage sharing.

This spot tends to draw locals who know exactly what they want—quality, familiar South Asian fare without needless frills or a rushed-for-catch ambiance. Visit when you’re craving authentic, robust flavors and a solid meal that feels close to home cooking. Lunch or dinner work well, with the latter offering a cozier setting as the neighborhood quiets down. It’s a place where portions are generous enough to satisfy bigger appetites and where trying something new on the menu each visit can be part of the draw.

It was just OH! MY! GOD. Never experienced the taste of home cooked food in a restaurant, that is what you get at Al Kabob. My trip to Dallas would be incomplete if I don't visit this restaurant. Every visit I try a different dish, all are so tasty. This time I tried their goat pulao, WOW!!! never tasted such a pulao before. The serving was so big with huge chunks of goat meat. The owner, Ali is so soft spoken and very generous in feeding his customers with the best quality food, he said that he never compromises on quality and very generous in his portion of servings. Also met his wife, Ruksana, who is the master chef and handles the kitchen. Highly recommended for those looking for the taste of home cooked food. Go grab your goat pulao, be there on time on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Here’s a polished, friendly review you can post: Had a great time at Al Kabob Grill and Cafe with friends! We ordered Chicken Kadai with rotti and Goat Pulav, and everything was delicious. The Chicken Kadai was flavorful and perfectly spiced, and the rotti paired really well with it. The Goat Pulav was aromatic, tender, and cooked just right. Good portions, great taste, and a nice place to enjoy a meal with friends. Definitely worth visiting again!

First and foremost the food is DELICIOUS. My husband and I got the butter chicken to share, and a samosa. I've never had this type of food before and I'm very eager to try more! My only complaints would be that for our one meal with an extra rice was almost $20. There was also a slight difficulty with communicating and I felt rushed to order. But we will be returning!
